Interaction
Over many years Interactive Design has rapidly grown and is continuing to advance not just within the design world but also within everyday life. Spectators are growing more adapted to the idea of using a touch user interface for example, kindles, ipads and smart phones are all types of technology which has become apparent within society. Interactive devices such as these have enabled everyday tasks for example reading the news, keeping up to date with the latest score and reading your favourite novel an effortless process with the touch of a button. Interaction has evolved within society and although may not always be apparent we are continuously interacting with objects within everyday life making us constantly connected to the digital world.
Interaction allows the user and audience to interact and participate in the creativity of the experience. Interaction uses the main sense of touch, Tactile. Here are a few examples of things which enable Interaction, Haptics, User Participation, Communication, User Collaboration, Digital Media- Ipad, Kindle, Video Games, Nintendo, Wii, DS.
'Interaction design is an emerging practice and the language of interactivity is still forming. In this context, adopting an experimental approach to the design, process is not so much an indulgence as a necessity'.
Andy Cameron, '
The Art Of Experimental Interaction Design'
"The meaning of the word 'author' has shifted significantly through history and has been the subject of intense scrutiny over the last 40 years. The earliest definitions are not associated with writing per se, but rather denote 'the person who originates or gives existence to anything'. Other usages have authoritarian - even patriarchal - connotations: 'the father of all life', 'any inventor, constructor or founder', 'one who begets' and 'a director, commander, or ruler'." Michael Rock The Designer As Author.

Michael Rock suggests that an author is commonly related to writing however now it also applies to design aswell. The individual who creates the work has power and high status. Although there is no evidence that Rocks essay is a reply to Rowland Barthes Death of the Author, there are points within the essay that suggest it is.
Authorship is the ownership of a piece of work that has been created and developed by someone who's original ideas and desires have created a piece of work. Authorship brings power to work that they have made. An author can be anybody that makes anything.
The Death of the Author is a 1967 essay by the French literary critic and theorist Roland Barthes. Barthes's essay argues against traditional literary criticism's practice of incorporating the intentions and biographical context of an author in an interpretation of a text, and argues that writing and the creator are unrelated. Barthes suggests that authorship and the voice of the author is lost when the reader takes the written words into their hands and perceive the language which can be lost in that individuals way of perception.
