High Arctic Instillation within the National Maritime Museum which we visited. This exhibition is a limitless display of interaction where the audience is given a tool, a UV torch which the user can get around the sculptural forms and pillars which are all interactive and work with the use of the torch and the interactive boards.
As the users torch hits this interactive floor design, the particles in the image above break into smaller particles and move along the floor following the light from the torch.
As you explore the environment built from over 3000 columns, you'll discover five interactive light pools, each with a different theme. Uncover the secrets and soak up the extraordinary atmosphere, listening to the voices and ghosts of the Arctic – past, present and future.
High Arctic
The Pillars that the audience have to get around within the dark confined space each have a name of a glacier on the top of it only to be revealed by the light of the UV torch.

We visited the High Arctic Museum where we were given the UV torch on entry.
It was quite strange to be in the museum with it all being dark however the interactive floor platforms added a small amount of light to the room. The first thing that we came across was the white rectangular 3d beams. They were in groups at different heights all around the room. These beams appeared to be white however when you shined the torch onto the top of them a name appeared. It was difficult to understand what they meant as there was not any information anywhere, it was only until we asked a member off staff who said they were all names of glaciers. The most interesting part was the interaction between he floor and the torch. We were able to move shapes around and speed up and slow down these shapes. There was also speakers around the exhibition, they were the voices of ghosts and stories, as I sat to listen I noticed that once the speaker had finished the story would then move to the next part and repeat, the stories were continuously moving around the room. This was a new experience as I had visited this Museum in the past and it is quite a reserved and basic Museum.
